First game is fast approaching.  Here is what you need to know…

Tailgate Upgrades…

·         Steve and I had our cooker reconditioned and added a smoke box

·         We have hard wired the electric and satellite connections into the tailgate trailer to eliminate some of the wiring around the trailer and to make early morning connections easier

·         We will have wireless speakers

·         We will again have a ceiling fan in the new tent

·         We will have a couple of new EZ Up tents (still to be purchased-no more cheap tents)

·         Hill will be repainted

·         We will be fully stocked with a season’s worth of consumables (plates, cups, spices, etc.)

·         We are asking everyone to bring a NEW Clemson chair to the game.  The years have taken their toll on our chairs and we need to replenish and upgrade.

We will try to have another work day at Steve’s this Saturday (Aug. 28) since the last one was rained out.  Still some wiring and cleaning to do.  Plus we will test out the cooker with some

First game will have an Asian theme…

·         Vietnamese pot stickers

·         Malaysian satay (chicken and beef) with spicy peanut sauce

·         Chinese pork ribs

·         Thai lemongrass slaw

·         Singapore spicy stir fried shrimp

·         Smoked sausages (for the polish and Italian Asians)

The Clemson Tailgaters are the proud Runners Up of the 2009 Bubba Keg National Competitive Tailgating Series. Originally selected as one of the top 14 tailgates in the country, we proved ourselves worthy of a 2nd place finish and can officially say we have the 2nd best tailgate in the Country!

Dowd gets to make his own birthday cake. He uses bacon, sausage, ham, pancakes, eggs, biscuits, gravy, and 2 types of cheese to make the best creation ever known to man. Enjoyed by the Clemson Tailgaters before the Clemson - FSU game November 7, 2009.

That's right. Wahoo. We're cooking wahoo on Saturday. It's always fun when you can enjoy dining on the other team's mascot before you enjoy watching the Tigers destroy them in the Valley.

We'll also have some great veggies, sweet potato fries, grilled chicken, and hot wings.

The TCU Horned Frogs handed our Tigers the 2nd loss of the season but you can't say the Clemson Tailgaters didn't try and help. We cooked up a few dozen of their legs so it's amazing they were able to run around, especially in the rain.

Please don't forget we need your votes in the Bubba Keg tailgate contest. We work hard to make each Saturday fun and would appreciate your votes. We're in 3rd place and gaining, and we need to keep the leaders in our sights. Every vote counts. They told us you can vote once a month per email address.
